Create, Start, stop and remove containers

This tutorial is related to creating, starting, stopping and removing containers.

Containers are small in size compared to virtual machines, even you can run containers within seconds. Containers don’t need virtualization host or hypervisor.

Create or run a container

If you an image on your host then docker will simply start the container by using the images if not then it will pull the images from the Docker Registry called Docker Hub.

You can check the running container by the following command. f the container is running then you will find the container in output

If the container is exited due to some reason you have to use another docker command to find running and exited containers.

A running container can be stopped and started again

Remove a stopped container
